Rice Krispy Treats

  • 3 cups mini marshmallows

  • 5 cups Rice Krispy cereal

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Toppings & Add-In’s

  • 1 cup mini marshmallows + 1 cup M&M’s

  • caramel milk chocolate Ghirardelli chocolate


Why measure in grams?

If you ask any bakery how they measure, most will say they measure in grams. Measuring by weight is more reliable for desserts because some recipes don’t specify if you should pack your ingredients and do not take into account how different people measure their ingredients.

A common mistake people make in measuring ingredients is when measuring brown sugar. Brown sugar is clumpier than normal sugar because it is mixed with molasses. 100 grams of white sugar is equivalent to 100 grams of packed brown sugar—though most people don’t pack their brown sugar the same way, so you will most likely not get the same measurement unless using a scale.

Measurements In Grams:

Rice Krispy Treats

  • 153 grams mini marshmallows

  • 140 grams Rice Krispy cereal

  • 45 grams butter

  • 12 grams vanilla extract

Toppings & Add-In’s

  • 50 grams mini marshmallows + 170 grams M&M’s

  • caramel milk chocolate Ghirardelli chocolate

Instructions:

  • Step 1

  • Melt butter and mini marshmallows in a large microwavable bowl for two 30-second intervals (mixing between each interval).

  • Step 2

  • Once marshmallow and butter is melted and combined, mix in vanilla extract.

  • Step 3

  • Add Rice Krispie cereal to your marshmallow mixture and mix until evenly combined.

  • Step 4

  • Pour marshmallows and M&M’s into your Rice Krispy mixture and mix.

  • Step 5

  • Lastly, add your mixture into a parchment paper lined square pan. Smoosh down with your spatula and add chocolates on top.

  • Step 6

  • Let this chill for 60-90 minutes before cutting 3x3. Eat fresh or store in air-tight container for up to 8 days!
