Sugar Cookies Bars
Measurements:
Cookie Dough
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp almond extract (if you don’t like almond extract in cookies, this is optional)
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tbsp milk or water

Step By Step

Step 1
Preheat oven to convection 350 degrees fahrenheit.
Beat room temperature butter in stand mixer/by hand for 3-5 minutes (or until butter turns off-white).

Add in white sugar. Beat the sugar with the butter until the mixture is fluffy (about 2 minutes).

Add your egg and stir into mixture.
Mix in vanilla and almond extract.

Add flour to form your dough. If using a stand mixer, mix on low. If mixing by hand, use a spatula.

Add your cookie dough to a parchment paper lined 9x9 square pan.

Bake for 22 - 25 minutes.
Cool for 10 minutes before putting in fridge for 25 minutes.

Add your frosting on top and spread with spoon/knife/spatula.

Store in fridge for up to 10 days or at room temperature for 8 days!
