The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter browned butter is optional
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp molasses
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate
- flakey sea salt
Method
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (convection). Beat room-temperature butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using a whisk or paddle attachment (stand mixer or hand mixer) for 1โ2 minutes, until the mixture turns light and off-white.
- Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and molasses until fully combined.
- Add the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the dough until just incorporated.
- Fold in chocolate chips or chunks.
- Scoop โ cup of cookie dough and place dough balls onto a parchment-lined baking tray, spacing evenly.
- Bake for 10โ11 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.
- For perfectly round cookies, immediately after baking, place a circular bowl, cup, or cookie cutter around each hot cookie and gently swirl to smooth the edges.
- Let cookies sit on the tray for about 10 minutes, then sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
- Enjoy fresh, or store in an airtight container for up to 8 days.

I recently made these and they looked amazing, only problem is i could taste a bit too much molasses. Overall amazing cookies just the taste is a bit off.
Amazing recipe! I recommend browning the butter. Make sure when your browning the butter, you let it cool and before adding it to the sugar, and make sure that mixture is cooled before adding the dry ingredients. If itโs too hot, the sugar melts and the dough becomes oily and crumbly. To fix this, store in the fridge for about 30 minutes until the dough is cool, then bake. Overall, these were amazing! Browning butter adds a nutty flavor that is absolutely delicious. I recommend this recipe to everyone.
