Ingredients

Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/3 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles
Frosting
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Topping
  • sprinkles

Method

Step 1 – Prep the Oven & Butter
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (convection). Beat room-temperature butter in a stand mixer or by hand for 3–5 minutes until slightly off-white.
Step 2 – Add Sugar
  1. Add granulated sugar and beat with the butter until fluffy, about 2 minutes.
Step 3 – Mix in Egg & Vanilla
  1. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
Step 4 – Form the Dough
  1. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, and Halloween sprinkles. Fold until a cookie dough forms.
Step 5 – Test Cookie
  1. Use a 1/3 cup scoop (or desired size) to place a single dough ball on a tray. Bake this test cookie to check spread and oven temperature. Adjust if needed.
Step 6 – Bake Cookies
  1. Place remaining dough balls on the tray, spacing evenly. Flatten slightly if desired. Bake for 12–14 minutes (for 1/3 cup scoops).
Step 7 – Shape & Cool
  1. For perfectly round cookies, gently swirl a cup or bowl around each fresh cookie. Let sit on the tray for 10 minutes before removing.
Step 8 – Make Frosting
  1. Beat butter until slightly off-white. Add powdered sugar and heavy cream, then vanilla extract. Whip until fluffy.
Step 9 – Frost & Decorate
  1. Frost the cooled cookies and sprinkle with Halloween sprinkles. Store in the fridge for up to 10 days or at room temperature for up to a week.
